
Donald & Bonnie Stuckless were a married for 60 years and together they served as missionaries in Latin America and Spain for 34 years. Don also pastored churches in the USA in Nebraska and Illinois.
Donald Stuckless was born in Corner Brook, Newfoundland. His maternal grandfather was a schoolmaster and lay minister in the Methodist Church. Samson´s Island was named after Don’s great grandfather, Samson Stuckless who purchased his property from Queen Victoria for the grand sum of two dollars.
Don´s family immigrated to Canada in 1943 before Newfoundland joined Canada. At the age of seven in Sarnia, Ontario, Canada Don committed his life to Jesus Christ. Following high school he served a four year apprenticeship and became a Tool and Die Maker. During this time he was in charge of prison ministry for the local Youth for Christ. In June of 1962 he married Miss Bonnie Brown from Brigden, Ontario. He graduated with his B.A. degree from Central Bible College and a M.A. from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School, Deerfield, Illinois. He has pastored in Nebraska and Illinois. Both Don & Bonnie are graduates of the Spanish Language Institute in San José, Costa Rica.
Bonnie Stuckless (nee Brown), was born on a farm in Ontario. She committed her life to God at age six. At age 15 she met and was greatly influenced by Gladys Aylward, missionary to China. She is a Registered Nurse with a B.A. from Blackburn University and a M.A. from Wheaton Graduate School.
Don and Bonnie have been missionaries for 34 years with the last twenty years of service being in Spain. They have been instrumental in pioneering three churches, a Half Way House with a carpenter shop and a Teen Challenge drug rehabilitation farm. The churches are full of former addicts and their families.
Don is the author of “The Christian in His Community”, a home study International Correspondence Institute course being used around the world and translated into many languages. Don and Bonnie have two children and eight grandchildren who live in Canada.
